None of the images in the calendars are posed – the cats are framed as encountered.

In the wild, so to speak.

Here is a list of the images used in the calendars, with a bit of a story for each.

Sometimes you turn around and catch a glimpse of a kitty just as their doing something interesting. Or, just being a cat.
This one was just being a cat, scratching her chin on some stucco. Cute, though.

Location:Paris, France
In France, cats seem to enjoy parking themselves in window sills. Not too surprising, since windows and doors are often referred to by the cat-aware as "Cat TV"
The shutters and flower pots are very typical French window dressing.

Location:Paris, France
Another french kitty on a window sill.
The ivy frames him/her nicely.

Location:Buenos Aires, Argentina
Cemeteries seem to be a haven for cats, not sure why (we won't entertain the macabre...). Likely the caretakers feed them.
This is in Buenos Aires' famous Recoleta cemetery (where Eva Peron is interred.)
ID:LS-EH-0002
Location:Lago di Maggiore, Italy
A beautiful kitty in a beautiful place: the lake district in northern Italy.
I love the clear eyes of this one.

Location:Ihdra (Hydra), Greek Islands, Greece
We had just docked our chartered sailboat — I leapt onshore to catch some shots in the waning light. This was on the right shore of the inlet, by a maritime museum with cannons overlooking the bay.
As I was shooting, this lady — seated beneath her mariner companion — was quietly watching me.
ID:LS-EN-0026
Location:Ihdra (Hydra), Greek Islands, Greece
Same area as the previous item. I'd gone back to shooting a few more shots of the bay, and turned around to see this big orange tom watching me intently.
Quite a handsome fellah, that one.
ID:LS-EN-0041
Location:Ihdra (Hydra), Greek Islands, Greece
Wander the streets of any of the Greek Isles and you'll see cats hanging out in the doorways. Whether they belong or not, I don't know. They're there in clusters, usually.
I like the litte guy on the end.

Location:Epidavrous, Greece
"What's in the water?" you wonder — on the docs, the cats are numerous and waiting for the left-overs from the fishermen bringing in and trimming the day's catch.
I like this shot a lot, although I can't quite tell you why.
ID:LS-FG-0027
Location:Mykonos, Greek Islands, Greece
Mykonos is the landmark greek isle with the big windmills you see in all the travel brochures.
Gleaming white structures, brightly colored doors and, of course, a few cats hanging about in the doorways.
ID:LS-FM-0071
Location:Ephesus, Turkey
One of the best preserved of the ancient Roman cities, Ephesus is home to hordes of cats prowling about the ruins.
This little fellow caught my attention in the dappled light.
ID:LS-FZ-0037
Location:Istanbul, Turkey
I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of cats in Greece and Turkey. Of course, it would not be prudent to approach them. The little guy seems to be patiently waiting for Mom to — do what?
Finish, I guess.
ID:LT-BQ-0147
Location:Rabat, Morroco
This was at a sunken grotto we had stumbled upon in our wanderings. Inside the grotto — behind the wall with the cats — was a pool, with an old, wizened man apparently tending the place.
There were some thirty (or so) cats about, most finding a splash of sunlight to bask in.

Location:Queensland, New Zealand
I was actually drawn to the bicycle and the variegated light on the stone wall. Then I noticed the cat in the window. He looks a litle aggressive, like he's not sure he wants me here.
Still, a very "classic" composition.
